Why is there a ring inside the kettle if it says “No Plastic Contact”?

The ring is a food-grade silicone seal, not plastic. It is BPA-free, FDA-compliant, and commonly used in baby pacifiers and bottle nipples for safe food contact.

Why does the kettle look bigger than expected?

Its retro design is shorter and wider than typical kettles. The 1.7L capacity refers to the safe boiling volume, and the double-wall cool-touch body adds thickness. It is still easy to handle, and you can boil less water when needed.

Does it make a lot of noise in heating water?

The noise level is lower than other electric kettles, it is totally acceptable, and it is very fast in boiling water.
